Hot Tubs for Park City Homes
Mountain-elevation hot tubs: what to plan for at 7,000 feet, from our Midvale showroom
Park City spas start in Midvale#
Park City is about 33 miles from our showroom, roughly 45 minutes via I-80 and Parleys Canyon when roads are clear. It's part of our service area, and the drive is worth it to compare models side by side. Sitting in a spa is the only real way to know if it fits you.
Planning for 7,000 feet#
Central Park City sits at about 7,010 feet, more than 2,600 feet higher than our Midvale showroom. That changes what matters most:
Cold and snow. Expect longer, colder winters and much more snow than the Salt Lake Valley. Your spa will run its heater more, and its cover will carry snow for months.
- Choose strong insulation: full foam on Island Spas, full foam with a PermaBase ABS pan on Artesian Elite, or Nordic's Nordic Wrap upgrade.
- Pick a 240V spa. The 4–5.5 kW heaters on the 240V spas we carry recover heat many times faster than a 1 kW plug-and-play heater. See 110V vs 240V.
- Get a heavy-duty, well-fitting cover and brush heavy snow off regularly. A Covana automated cover keeps closing up easy in deep winter.
Placement and roof snow. Keep the spa out of the path of snow and ice sliding off roofs, and plan a short, clear path from the door. Non-slip steps are a must.
Access. Steep driveways, decks and tight mountain lots can complicate delivery. Measure carefully and plan the route before the spa is ordered, and avoid scheduling delivery during a storm cycle.
Rules and approvals. Many Park City neighborhoods have HOAs, and the historic district has its own design guidelines. Check before adding exterior structures or a gazebo-style enclosure.
If your home is a rental#
Hot tubs in short-term rentals see heavy use from many guests. Plan for more frequent water testing, filter cleaning and drain-and-refill cycles, and a locking cover. We stock filters, chemicals and covers at the showroom.

Frequently Asked Questions
Do you deliver and service hot tubs in Park City?
Park City is part of our service area. It's about 33 miles from our Midvale showroom, roughly 45 minutes via I-80 through Parleys Canyon in good conditions. Call 801-838-7727 to discuss scheduling, especially in winter when canyon weather can affect timing.
What should I look for in a hot tub at Park City's elevation?
Plan for long, cold winters and heavy snow: full-foam or upgraded insulation, a heavy-duty cover with locking straps, a lifter so the cover always goes back on, and a 240V heater (4–5.5 kW on the 240V models we carry) for fast heat recovery.
Do I need HOA approval for a hot tub in Park City?
Many Park City neighborhoods have HOAs with rules on exterior changes, and homes in the historic district are subject to the city's design guidelines. Check with your HOA and Park City's planning department before you order, especially for structures like a gazebo-style enclosure.
