Who the Modern Series is for
The Modern Series is for people who want a clean, contemporary look and flexibility on where the spa goes. Models range from the 2-person Bella MS, only 34.5 inches wide and narrow enough to fit through most standard doorways, to the 6-person Encore MS and Jubilee MS. The Retreat MS is a best-seller thanks to its compact footprint and deep bucket seats.
Electrical: start on 110V, upgrade later
Nordic lists Modern Series models as 110V/220V convertible: about a 1 kW heater on 110V or a 4 kW heater on 220V. That means you can plug in and start soaking without a new circuit, then add a 240V circuit later if you want much faster heating. It's a good middle ground for condos, townhomes and tight backyards. Our 110V vs 240V guide shows how much faster a 4 kW heater recovers.
Indoors, outdoors, and Utah winters
The compact Bella MS opens up indoor, sunroom and basement-walkout placements that larger spas can't reach. Indoor spas need ventilation and moisture planning. For outdoor use through a Utah winter, consider the Nordic Wrap insulation upgrade, keep a tight cover on, and if you run on 110V, keep the lid closed between soaks. See our winter guide.

Nordic Modern Series FAQs
Can a Nordic Modern hot tub run on a regular outlet?
Nordic lists Modern Series models as 110V/220V convertible. On 110V they use about a 1 kW heater, and on 220V a 4 kW heater, so you can start on 110V and upgrade later for faster heating.
Will a Nordic hot tub fit through a doorway?
The Bella MS is only 34.5 inches wide, which fits through most standard doorways. That makes it a good choice for indoor or hard-to-reach locations.
Which Modern Series model is the most popular?
Nordic describes the Retreat MS, a 5-person rectangle with deep bucket seats and a compact footprint, as a best-selling model.
Nordic Modern or Nordic Classic?
It mostly comes down to shape. The Modern Series has contemporary lines and compact footprints. The Classic Series is round with multi-level, barrier-free seating. Most models in both lines are 110V/220V convertible.
Is 110V enough for a Nordic Modern in a Utah winter?
It works if the spa stays full, running and covered, but heat recovery on the roughly 1 kW 110V heater is slow after a long soak. Wiring for 220V lets it use the 4 kW heater instead. See our 110V vs 240V guide and winter guide.
